Street workout/Calisthenics is a combination of athletics, calisthenics, and sports all with the goal of building a strong and supple body. Street workout is a modern name for bodyweight workouts in outdoor parks. There are also street workout teams and organized competitions. Exercises such as pull-ups, chin-ups, push-ups, dips, bodyweight rows, muscle-ups, sit-ups and squats but also some static (isometric) holds such as the human flag, front lever, back lever, L-sit and planche. You can train with several people at the same time which gives challenge and competition and it motivates a healthy lifestyle.

Crosstraining is a training routine that involves several different types of exercise. This works more muscle groups, improves agility, and makes it easier to participate in a variety of recreational sports. Crosstraining may serve to improve specific aspects of your fitness or performance that can lend a hand to your primary sport. Cross-training doesn’t have to be super-intense, though. At its core, it’s all about pairing workouts that will support each other.

When you run, you’re constantly working your legs and arms, but to become a faster, stronger runner, that’s where cross-training comes in. Cross-training can be high or low intensity exercise and is different than just tacking on more miles.

A fitness bootcamp is a type of group physical training program. These programs are designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of types of exercise. Boot camp workouts can vary. They generally include a fairly intense mix of aerobic, strength training and speed elements within each session. A boot camp workout is essentially a type of interval training — bursts of intense activity alternated with intervals of lighter activity.

Parkour is running, swinging, jumping, and climbing from point A to point B in the quickest way possible. Freerunning is similar, but it emphasizes the flashy side of parkour, with fancy flips and stylistic acrobatics. Both parkour and freerunning are modern forms of urban sports, in which the participants jump, climb and run through urban spaces with often many obstacles.

As a whole, parkour is the more practical of the two and freerunning is more showy and artistic. Often people who practice parkour also practice freerunning, so there is more in common between the two than there are differences. Either way, these modern sports are excellent method of training not only the body but also for improved coordination, balance and increased overall strength.
